Fahrenzine is a new adventure in publishing brought to you exclusively by Fahrenheit Press.

Each issue features a single short story from one of the most exciting crime fiction talents in the world and is strictly limited to only 100 hand-numbered copies.

Featuring no-nonsense typography and published pamphlet style, Fahrenzine takes inspiration from our old skool punk heritage and pays homage to the pioneering DIY spirit of revolutionary zines like Sniffin Glue, Chainsaw and New York Rocker.

This 6th issue of Fahrenzine (#FHZ006) features Fahrenheit's professor in residence K.A. Laity.

(Issue 6 is a bit chunkier than the other Fahrenzines, it comes in at about twice the length but it's so good we let her get away with it.)

Kate Laity writes under many guises and across many genres, she's one of those rare writers who is genuinely impossible to classify or put in a box.

Her reviews should give you some idea of the high esteem she's held in within the writing world.

“Laity is a very remarkable sorceress indeed.” ~ Elizabeth Hand

“Laity is probably a figment of her own imagination, and what an imagination that is! A witty and inventive wordsmith. A natural storyteller. A one off!” ~ Paul D. Brazill

“It's a skilled writer who can make you laugh and come close to tears in a mere few pages.” ~ Crime Fiction Lover

“Kate’s work is always measured and elegant and is frequently very, very funny and her sense of humour runs pleasingly dark.” ~ Alasdair Stuart

This is what Fahrenheit publisher Chris McVeigh had to say...

"Kate's unique mastery of styles, genres and format coupled with her encyclopedic knowledge & enthusiasm for the punk scene, instantly put her right at the top of my list when we started approaching people to contribute to Fahrenzine - when she said yes I knew we'd be in for something special and maaaan she hasn't disappointed."

So what can you expect from HIGH PLAINS LAZARUS?

Imagine if Fahrenheit's Jo Perry got together with musician Nick Cave and they wrote a cowboy noir thriller... and then chucked in some zombies - actually you don't have to imagine because Kate Laity has only gone and done it for them.

Yup. That's right. Cowboy Noir with Zombies. Nothing else to say frankly, just go and get it while you can.

Remember as with all the Fahrenzines,  only the 100 people who buy this will ever get to read this story - we anticipate people will be fighting to get their hands on this one so don't hang about.

Only 100 copies have been printed - when they're gone, they're gone
