Fahrenzine is a new adventure in publishing brought to you exclusively by Fahrenheit Press.

Each issue features a single short story from one of the most exciting crime fiction talents in the world and is strictly limited to only 100 hand-numbered copies.

Featuring no-nonsense typography and published pamphlet style, Fahrenzine takes inspiration from our old skool punk heritage and pays homage to the pioneering DIY spirit of revolutionary zines like Sniffin Glue, Chainsaw and New York Rocker.

The 7th issue of Fahrenzine (#FHZ007) features Fahrenheit favourite Ian Patrick.

If you're familiar with Fahrenheit then you'll almost certainly have one of Ian's books on your shelves.

We've already published the first 2 books in his massively popular Sam Batford series RUBICON and STONED LOVE (the first of which has been optioned by the BBC and should be coming to a screen near you sometime soon) - the 3rd book in the series is on it's way to you in early October this year.

Here's just a few of the hundreds of reviews for the books in the Sam Batford series...

‘A sharp, slick, gripping and compelling novel’

'Simply Brilliant...'

' A smart, fast paced thriller - Rubicon is a book which you can easily lose an afternoon to. If you’re looking for something that is different which will take you on an exciting ride, I highly recommend this book.'

'A fast-paced thriller which maintains a keen eye on high quality writing.'

'Rubicon is fast-paced and keeps you wanting more. I expect to see a lot more from both the author and the character.'

'It’s not hard to see why Ian Patrick’s pacey crime thriller, Rubicon, has been optioned for television. First of all, it oozes authenticity – hardly surprising given the author’s former incarnation as an undercover Met officer. Patrick is such a skilled writer that the detail is drawn lightly, with Batford’s backstory, complex chains of command and a multi-layered investigation seamlessly woven into the story.'

'This is a beautifully crafted thriller which holds the readers attention from begining to end. Full of suprises and unexpected events this is a book that engages the reader in the struggles of the characters. Nothing is straight forward and nothing is as it seems. The writting is sophisticated and imaginative with a wonderful eye for detail. A great novel which sucks you in and holds you there.'

‘Simply brilliant - a fantastic novel and one that I would recommend to anyone looking for a good crime thriller.’

‘Fast paced thriller which maintains a keen eye on high quality writing. Sam Batford’s intriguing character, makes for a read you won’t want to put down.’

‘Would translate perfectly into a TV series, it has got that edge about it that keeps it raw, fresh and gritty. Organised crime and corruption go hand in hand to provide a "grab you by the throat" kind of read! Read it and see!’

‘Starts with a bang and just keeps going!  fast-paced and keeps you wanting more. I expect to see a lot more from both the author and the character.’

‘I really enjoy crime thrillers by writers such as Peter James and Mark Billingham and Ian Patrick has the skills to become a force in this genre. His experience as a police officer shines through and gives great credibility to the novel. I look forward to reading more about Sam Batford over the next few years!’

‘The characters, dialogue, everything was spot on for me. Gritty, totally believable and Excellent!’

‘London Noir at it best. Ian Patrick captures the corrupt beat of the city with every line.’

So what can we tell you about DIFFERENT STROKES?

Well this is definitely Ian Patrick like you've never read him before - in this short story he's gone full-on Grit-Brit-Noir - we really don't want to say to much but we think you'll be surprised and thrilled by this gear-change - we reckon he's definitely been hanging out with the rough kids round the back of the crime fiction world.

DIFFERENT STROKES tips the scales at just over 50 pages so it's a bit longer than our usual Fahrenzine format but frankly it was so damn exciting we had no choice but to turn a blind eye to the word count and just get the damn thing out there into the world.

Remember as with all the Fahrenzines,  only the 100 people who buy this will ever get to read this story - we anticipate people will be fighting to get their hands on this one so don't hang about.

Only 100 numbered copies have been printed - when they're gone, they're gone
